The Big Picture
A “big” contemporary art exhibit is coming to Midtown this summer.
Hyde Midtown Miami presents The Big Picture, a multidisciplinary exhibition that explores the concept of size to reflect on the relationship between human nature and the natural world around us.
On view in our David Rockwell-designed lobby lounge, The Big Picture features works by a diverse range of local and international artists.
Miami-based artist Sequoyah Burke-Combs invites introspection with a surrealist peony painting, while French artist Didier Audrat examines urban space through hyperreal sculptures of synchronized swimmers.
Art imitates life in Hunt Slonem’s glass bunny series, which expands upon the acclaimed artist’s Neo-Expressionist paintings.
In Bruce Helander’s Macy’s Mickey Mouse, the Florida Artists Hall of Fame recipient engages with themes of consumerism depicted at the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade.
These larger-than-life themes are epitomized by Maite Nobo, a Cuban-born artist who spreads messages of hope and perseverance through her mixed media series, BIG.
7 Days a Week | 9am to 6pm
The Big Picture is on view through November 2024, leading up to the hotel’s annual Miami Art Week programming.
The exhibition is open to the public, hotel guests, and residents of Hyde Midtown Miami.
No reservations are required for viewing. Private exhibition tours are available upon request.
